What We Do

PEHT serves all survivors of human trafficking regardless of nationality, gender identification, age, or type of trafficking experience. Join us in supporting them.

Our Philoshophy Of Care

The Partnership to End Human Trafficking (PEHT) is unique as a service delivery organization because of our use of the Sanctuary Model® of Trauma-Informed Care.

The Sanctuary Model ® is a guide for creating an organizational culture that considers the way that trauma, adversity, and chronic stress influence an individual’s behavior. This model offers a shared language for naming and mitigating that stress, thereby creating an environment that is conducive to healing.

The Sanctuary Model ® is defined by its commitment to the following:

  • Nonviolence
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Social learning
  • Democracy
  • Open communication
  • Social responsibility
  • Personal growth and change

"I want to send a message out there to any of you that believe that human trafficking or sex trafficking is only possible by kidnapping or what you see on TV. This happens in some cases but definitely not all. I am a survivor of sex trafficking. I got involved when I was down to my lowest point. And that's what traffickers look for. They look for people who are struggling, broke, homeless and broken. That's where I was. Then either a man or their girls will come and promise me a place to stay, beautiful things, friends, parties, and many more. Who wouldn't want that? So yes, I went."
- Azalea (Survivor & PEHT Graduate)

The Fight to End Human Trafficking

PEHT’s work to eliminate labor trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation in this region uses a sustainable, long-term model of housing, employment, and education.
