Master of Social Work, Housing Advocate
LeeAnne Appio, MSW, joined Partnership to End Human Trafficking (PEHT) in 2025 as a Housing Advocate and is honored to be part of a compassionate, mission-driven organization dedicated to supporting survivors of human trafficking and exploitation. In her role, she helps survivors navigate the transition to safe, stable housing while providing advocacy, resources, and individualized support that promote long-term healing and independence.
LeeAnne earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sacred Heart University and completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2026. Her education and field experience have strengthened her commitment to trauma-informed, survivor-centered care and prepared her to support individuals facing complex life challenges.
Prior to joining PEHT, LeeAnne completed internships with The Family & Children's Agency's Pre-Trial Intervention Program and at Newtown High School, where she gained experience supporting individuals and families navigating a variety of personal and systemic challenges. She also served as the Student Life & Communications Coordinator at Calvary Church, where she fostered meaningful relationships, coordinated community engagement initiatives, and created supportive spaces for individuals of all backgrounds.
LeeAnne's work is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person's unique journey. She is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and nonjudgmental environment where survivors feel heard, valued, and empowered as they pursue their goals, strengthen their independence, and build brighter futures.
